When Nihilist broke up in 1989, the other members formed Entombed, but Johnny Hedlund started Unleashed. Since then, Unleashed has shifted from occult themes to Viking/Scandinavian lore and have begun incorporating black metal elements into their classic Swedish death metal sound.
